In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, SBV Security Unlimited, a prominent player in the security industry, on their employee appreciation day, has stepped forward to support and give back to orphanage homes in their local communities. This generous gesture underscores the company’s commitment not only to safeguarding its clients but also to making a positive impact on society.
Donations consisted of essential supplies aimed at enhancing the well-being of the children residing in Malibuseng Children’s Home. Malibuseng was established in 1994 but was legally registered in 2008, and is located at Maseru East near Maqalika Dam.
This act of philanthropy reflects the company’s belief in giving back to the community and providing support to those in need.
On behalf of SBV, Mr. Tlotliso Matšosa expressed that as part of the employee appreciation day their CEO has tasked all employees to give back to the community, the company’s deep-rooted values are compassion and solidarity, “SBV company is dedicated to protecting people and property, we understand the importance of fostering a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable members of our society. We are honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of children in orphanages and to play a part in their journey towards a brighter future,” said Tlotliso.
Additionally, he stated that SBV has pledged ongoing assistance and involvement to ensure the sustained welfare of the children as they celebrate 10 years of operation and a year since Security Unlimited formed a merger and began working as one.
The charitable initiative has been met with immense appreciation from both the orphanage homes, who have expressed their gratitude for the much-needed support. The representatives from the orphanages have elaborated on the various ways in which the support will make a significant difference in the lives of the children under their care. They have vouched to provide better, nutritious meals, educational stationary, and improved living conditions for the children. The representatives have also expressed their confidence that the support received will go a long way in bringing about a positive change in the lives of those who are most in need.
We made it a priority to engage with the community to understand their most pressing needs. After careful consultation, we took action by providing them with important resources such as electricity, hygiene products, food, and school supplies, “we came and asked them what they most need, then went back to answer to their specific needs, which was electricity, hygiene products, food and school supplies,” said Matšosa.
Mr. Zongezile Zumane an assistant manager at Malibuseng, indicated that Nutrition plays a pivotal role in the lives of children, influencing their physical health, cognitive development, and overall well-being. He then said we should put ourselves in the shoes of the kids at Malibuseng and try to go to bed without food not because they do not want to eat but because there is no food at all.
“I believe that I have a responsibility to prioritize nutrition as a fundamental aspect of care, ensuring that the children receive the nourishment they need to thrive. Which can only be achieved by providing balanced meals, preventing malnutrition, and promoting nutrition education. I know Malibuseng can lay the groundwork for a healthier future for the children under their care even though they lack a few more resources,” said Mr. Zumane.
He further stated that SBV donation serves as a beacon of inspiration for other corporations to follow suit and prioritize corporate social responsibility initiatives. By leveraging their resources and influence for the greater good, he believes that companies can create meaningful change and contribute positively to society.
