Telecommunications giant Econet Telecom Lesotho, on Friday, officially announced its new campaign- “Blue Oceans”, set to give its clients a festive to remember, through handsome cash prizes to help spend the season with ease. The campaign was launched with great hype and offers displayed at Pitso Ground, in Maseru.

ETL users in Maseru showed up in numbers, buying airtime and participating, each trying their luck of guaranteed draw which would pick winners for the day.

Unveiling its “Blue Oceans” festive campaign, which has the tagline, #HoaHlamatseha, Econet assured its subscribers that they to stand a chance of winning a share of over M2 million in cash prizes and smartphones by just participating in the campaign.

The campaign underscores the digital service provider’s dedication to leading the way in shaping the future of the digital revolution in Lesotho and reinforcing Econet as the leader in innovation as well as changing lives throughout the Mountain Kingdom.

Giving her remarks on the campaign, Econet Telecom Lesotho GM – Marketing Communications and Customer Experience Mrs ‘Mapusetso Nts’ekhe said: “This campaign raises the bar on the new trajectory we are embarking on as Econet. It also seeks to celebrate and recognise the milestones we have achieved over the years through the steadfast support of our esteemed customers.

“We are excited about the joy the Blue Oceans campaign brings to our customers. This campaign is fun, interactive and very easy to participate in. We have amazing cash prizes and massive giveaways in the pipeline across the 10 districts.”

One of the standout components of the Blue Oceans campaign is that the digital service providers assured it will be a Live Game Show- the first-of-its-kind, which will be streamed on ETL’s Facebook page. The launch was a testament to this, as seven Subscribers were randomly selected in the draw, to participate on the 20-30 minutes game. Each participant was assigned a letter from A-G, and participant A was prompted to choose any digit between 2 and 9 while participants B to G were to choose between 0 and 9. The participants were then told to create a phone number (MSISDN) by combining their assigned letter with their chosen digit. If the number exists and is answered, they were to walk away with M800, but to their dismay, the number called was unanswered and they only won M400.

The campaign will run throughout the season and more subscribers still stand a chance to grab more prizes. “The participants stand a chance to share a prize pool of M15, 000 if the phone number created exists and the owner has opted-in the campaign, and answers the phone when called. If the phone number exists but the subscriber is not participating in the campaign, the participants will only share M7000.00 and if it does not exist, they will share a guaranteed M3500.00,” said Mrs Nts’ekhe. Indeed ho tlo hlamatseha” she concluded.

Econet Telecom Lesotho subscribers can participate and join in the campaign by buying voice or data bundles or by sending premium-rated SMSs with the words ‘Blue Oceans’ to 30001 for one entry costing M1.00 only. Subscribers can also increase their chances of winning by sending the words ‘Blue Oceans’ to 31000 to get seven entries at the cost of M5.00. The campaign ends in February 2024.By participating, subscribers can win cash prizes ranging from M500.00 per day up to the grand prize of M200, 000. 00 per month, as well as smartphones.
