Thabiso Sesiu scored the first goal on the first half and Lemohang Lints’a scored the second goal on the second half and that made the LUFC to be the winners of the Cup. It is on this match where each team received a trophy. The LUFC players received the gold medals while the Ace Maseru FC Players got themselves the silver medals and walked away with a M15 000.00 cheque.

The Nedbank Championship is a clash of two teams that won the promotion from the two A division streams at the end of every season. It is at this match where one teenage referee got the chance to be recognized by the nation.

Mlungisi Sixishe, a teenage referee who made history, being the youngest referee to officiate a final of an elite in Lesotho said he could not be more grateful because this was his first time experience being on the spotlight. He said he knows that if he continues to work hard and with much more dedication he will get more than being just a “teenage referee”.

“It’s a phenomenal feeling honestly, I love the progress I am making so far. It is not a secret that mostly after a great match, football players are the ones that get a chance to be on the spotlight therefore this is rare for me” Sixishe said.

It is said that the Nedbank 8 and the Nedbank championship are bankrolled by Nedbank Lesotho to the tune of M250 000.00 since announcing the partnership with the Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) during the 2018/2019 season.
