Radio Maria will be hosting a Synodality walk with the hope to raise funds for the radio station, as they solely depends on donations and fundraising for their financial needs.
This very first walk hosted by Radio Maria will take place on the 1st April 2023. The walk will commence at 7 a.m. from the radio station premises, to IEMs, Lesotho parliament, all the way to Maseru circle, then back to the radio station. The synodality walk is open to all Christians, as some important matters affecting the country as a whole will be on the prayer agenda.
Tšepo Lekometsa gave a detailed explanation, of the difference between a “fun walk” and “synodality walk”, synodality walk is journeying together in a shared search for Christ, scripture, prayer and common life.
In cases like this there is already a pre-selection of songs to be sang during the march and seeing that Easter is already around the corner, some Easter Hymns of faith will also be slotted in which will be in line with their Catholic faith.
The walk will commence with a Roman Catholic prayer, “Tsela ea sefapano” which is a prayer that is done by Roman Catholics every Easter. It symbolizes the journey Christ went through while in captive
The tickets for the event will cost M150.00,price includes food. Mapula Radebe, a Roman Catholic member and a YouTube blogger who once blogged “explore Radio Maria”, sensitized the public of the critical role radio stations play in updating the citizens of the country on all the happenings in the country. She urged the youth to participate in the walk so they may grow spiritually.
To accommodate the elderly and other people who may not be able to walk such a long distance due to health complications, there will be a gathering at Radio Maria premises where prayer, praise and worship will be ongoing.
