MASERU – Alliance Insurance has announced the top four winners of the Alliance High School Soccer Tournament, which are set for the grant finale slatted for this weekend – Saturday.
These top four winners are Thetsane High School representing Maseru district, Bereng High School representing Mafeteng, Khethisa High School from Leribe and St Rose High School from Berea.

Alliance Head of Marketing and Communications ‘Makeabetsoe Mabaleha said the main purpose when they launched this tournament was not only to help youth to stay off the streets but they realized that big sports associations are facing a major problem of not being able to recognize talent from high school levels.
Lesotho Institutions Sports Association (LISA) Former President Caswell Moru said it is true that they have difficulty spotting talented soccer players from high schools, saying this competition is a solution to that problem. He added that all premium league coaches’ from different clubs will be present so that they can spot raw talent among these under 17 players within the tournament. He urged parents to attend these matches because supporting a child who is enthusiastic about sports is important and is a good demonstration of parents’ concern to childrens’development. A draw was also performed to determine how the game will be facilitated.
Thetsane High school will go against Bereng High school in the semi-final 1. Khethisa High School will go against St. Rose High School in the semi-final 2 and the winners of these semi-finals will log heads in the finals. The tournament was founded by Alliance Insurance, together with LISA
