MASERU

FNB has taken a major step towards enhancing economic development in Lesotho by opening two new branches in Maseru. With new locations at Masianokeng Mall and Maseru Mall, these branches make banking services more accessible to a broader public, underscoring the bank’s dedication to the community.

This expansion is part of the bank’s strategic effort to contribute positively to the national economy, provide more job opportunities, and offer its clients secure, personalised financial services.

The opening of these new branches aligns with FNB Lesotho’s mission to serve the Basotho community better. Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) FNB Delekazi Mokebe passionately mentions the bank’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s economic well-being.

Mokebe highlights that the two branches would not only provide essential financial services but also contribute to job creation in the region.

“Our goal has always been to meet our customers where they are, and this expansion is a testament to that commitment,” said Mokebe at the official opening ceremony. “With the launch of these new branches, we are taking another step taking another step towards fulfilling our promise of making banking easier, safer, and more accessible for all Basotho. Our customers will enjoy a seamless banking experience with enhanced digital capabilities and personalised services.”

By expanding their reach into prominent malls like Masianokeng and Maseru Mall, FNB Lesotho aims to be closer to their customers, enabling them to access a wide array of financial products and services conveniently.

The new branches at Masianokeng Mall and Maseru Mall will offer a variety of services, including business banking, and more. The bank is making a concerted effort to ensure that its services are not only secure but also tailored to meet the unique needs of its customers.

In a show of support for the bank’s expansion, the Governor of the Central Bank of Lesotho (CBL) Dr. Maluke Letete also attended the launch ceremony.  This is a wonderful development, and it speaks to the progress as a nation in terms of economic and financial inclusivity.

However, the Governor also issued a reminder to the Basotho people, particularly regular customers of financial institutions, to be mindful of their actions. “As regular customers, we must remember not to punish innocent individuals while managing risks. It is important to keep in mind the balance between ensuring proper risk management and allowing the smooth delivery of financial services,” he states.

FNB approach is centred around offering secured services, by understanding that each customer has unique needs, and designed their products and services to cater specifically to these.

The branches at Masianokeng Mall and Maseru Mall will also introduce modern banking technology to facilitate more convenient and efficient transactions. From ATMs to digital banking platforms, customers will be able to manage their accounts and conduct transactions at their convenience.

FNB is committed to ensuring that all Basotho have access to financial services, regardless of their location or socio-economic status. With these new branches, the bank is working to bring financial inclusion to the forefront. By establishing a presence in active areas like Masianokeng and Maseru Mall, FNB Lesotho aims to reach underserved populations and provide them with tools and resources to improve their financial literacy and stability.

They are dedicated to ensuring that all Basotho, from all walks of life, have the opportunity to access reliable and secure banking services.

FNB Lesotho’s decision to open new branches in Masianokeng Mall and Maseru Mall is more than just an expansion of services. It is a clear commitment to the future of Lesotho’s economy. In October 2024, it celebrated 20 years of its operation in Lesotho with eight branches.

By creating jobs, promoting financial inclusion, and offering secure, personalised banking services, FNB Lesotho is not only strengthening its presence in the market but also contributing to the broader development goals of the country. With this expansion, FNB Lesotho has reaffirmed its dedication to both the people of Lesotho and the economic growth of the nation
