MAFETENG
On a mission to inspire and educate, Mr. Bokang Motšoari, the COO at Global Consultancy, took center stage at the recent BAM Group Foundation (BGF) business seminar. Entrepreneurs from Mafeteng eagerly absorbed his wisdom on the DOs and DON’Ts of running a business.
Motšoari began his presentation by recounting his educational journey at the Center of Accounting, where he became an accountant. This academic foundation equipped him with the essential tools to navigate the complexities of the business world and propelled him to his current role as COO.
At Global Consultancy, Motšoari highlighted that their mission is to assist entrepreneurs at every stage of their business journey. From business registration to tax filing and bookkeeping, the consultancy provides a comprehensive suite of services designed to help businesses thrive.
“By formalising your businesses, you open doors to possible funding opportunities and the potential to win tenders, significantly boosting your chances of success,” said Motšoari.
He underscored the importance of entrepreneurs positioning themselves as problem solvers. He explained that addressing real-world needs and challenges is the cornerstone of a flourishing business. “When businesses solve problems, they naturally attract customers and sustain growth,” he stated.
One of the common pitfalls for many businesses, according to Motšoari, is the lack of effective marketing.
“Most businesses fail due to a lack of marketing their products and services,” he warned. He encouraged entrepreneurs to invest in marketing strategies to increase their visibility and reach a broader audience.
Motšoari also shared practical financial advice, urging entrepreneurs and their employees to save 20% of their income monthly. He clarified the impact of disciplined saving by reflecting on his own company’s journey. “When we started, we had only two cars, but now we have 25 because we saved money instead of spending it all,” he revealed.
In closing, Motšoari called on the audience to shift their mindset from seeking employment to creating their own opportunities. “It’s about time people stop saying there are no jobs and establish their own businesses,” he said, inspiring a new wave of entrepreneurs ready to take on the challenges and rewards of business ownership.
Mr. Bokang Motšoari’s insights provided invaluable guidance for Mafeteng entrepreneurs, equipping them with the knowledge and motivation to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape successfully. His emphasis on problem-solving, marketing, financial discipline, and self-reliance resonated with the audience, setting the stage for a thriving business community.
