Lapeng Ha bo Bantu Guest House is also praised for its tranquil atmosphere, offering a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Mafeteng town.
The owners, Dr Moses Hanson and Phiny Hanson, said this establishment was inspired by the philanthropic actions of a family matriarch, nkhono ‘Mamolulela. The Lapeng Guest Houses are built around the theme of community support and giving back.
Neé Nomangesi Evelyn Radebe and married to Khatlako Rakhoabe, nkhono ‘Mamolulela was a teacher by profession before venturing into business with her spouse at Tšoeneng, Ha-Letsie.
There, she worked closely with the community, engaging in various development activities. These included communal gardens, football tournaments, a battering system, and the construction of school buildings. She was also involved in preserving traditional recreational activities, such as mokhibo, ntlamo, mock marriages for children, lesokoana, and lipina tsa mokopu.
This inspiration appears to have been passed down from nkhono ‘Mamolulela to ‘M’e Molulela, and then onto the present Hanson generation.
Lapeng Ha bo Bantu Guest House is a sister establishment to Lapeng Ha ‘Mamosa, located in Tšoeneng, Ha Letsie, on the outskirts of Maseru.
Lapeng Ha bo Bantu boasts antique furniture and classic décor, creating a timeless and elegant atmosphere.
When asked what sets them apart in the hospitality industry, Hanson highlighted that visitors often rave about the exceptional service they receive at Lapeng Guest House.
She emphasised their commitment to providing quality meals, ensuring every guest enjoys an outstanding culinary experience.
Hanson added that they place great value on maintaining the highest standards within their business, investing in quality to guarantee that every visitor enjoys a memorable stay with hospitality long after departure.
Lapeng Ha bo Bantu Guest House is one of the sponsors of the Finite Magazine Business Seminar recently held in Mafeteng.
