The Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) has officially announced the appointment of Mr. Caswell Moru as its new Technical Director. This appointment follows the departure of Mr. Lehlohonolo Thotanyana at the end of 2024.

Mr. Moru brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in various capacities within the Lesotho sporting landscape. His resume boasts impressive permits, including roles with the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC), the Lesotho Institutions Sports Association (LISA), and the Confederation of School Sport Association of Southern Africa (COSSASA).

A highly respected figure in Lesotho football, Mr. Moru possesses a deep understanding of the game, both on and off the field. He is a certified CAF Coach Educator, a testament to his commitment to developing coaching expertise within the country. His experience with national teams is equally significant, having served as assistant coach to the late Moses Maliehe with both Likuena and Makoanyane XI.

Mr. Moru’s coaching career has seen him achieve notable success. He guided Bantu FC back to the top flight in 2009, showcasing his tactical acumen and ability to inspire his players. Furthermore, he led the team to victory in the Independence Cup, demonstrating his capacity to deliver results under pressure. Notably, he worked alongside Mr. Mosito Matela, the current Matlama Assistant Coach, during this successful period.

He will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of coaching within the country by overseeing and developing comprehensive coaching programs. This will involve conducting workshops, seminars, and courses for coaches at all levels, from grassroots to elite.
