Meet Itumeleng Mabejane, the dynamic founder of Stacy Sews, a fashion brand that blends creativity, passion, and a deep connection to her community. From a young age, Itumeleng was captivated by the world of fashion. She recalls eagerly following the latest trends, restyling her clothes, and impressing those around her with her impeccable taste. It was this early fascination with fashion that ultimately led her to pursue a career in the industry, culminating in the launch of her very own brand, Stacy Sews.
“I’ve always loved fashion so much that people would ask me to join them while they went shopping, just to get my opinion,” Itumeleng shares. “I’m not only into sewing, but I’m also a stylist, and that combination inspired me to start my own business.”
Like many entrepreneurs, Itumeleng’s journey to establishing Stacy Sews has not been without its hurdles. One of the biggest challenges she faced in the beginning was securing the necessary funding to purchase the expensive machinery required to produce quality garments.
“The machinery is very costly, and that was one of my main challenges when starting out,” she says. Additionally, managing difficult clients and meeting demanding targets while working solo has also tested her resilience and determination.
However, Itumeleng’s dedication to her craft and her customers has kept her moving forward. Her passion for helping others shines through, especially when it comes to aiding parents struggling to afford uniforms for their children. “There have been times when I’ve seen a parent struggling to provide uniforms, and I’ve made it a point to offer my support in any way I can,” she explains.
At Stacy Sews, Itumeleng offers a variety of custom-made garments, from elegant evening dresses to modern Seshoeshoe dresses, stylish trousers, uniforms, and much more. She carefully considers her clients’ needs and preferences, ensuring that every piece she creates is not only beautiful but also tailored to suit individual tastes. The brand’s unique combination of functionality and fashion is what has made Stacy Sews a standout in the local market.
Looking to the future, Itumeleng is eager to introduce a signature style that will set her brand apart from others. This signature collection will be carefully crafted to resonate with her target clientele, a step she believes will take Stacy Sews to new heights. “I want to create a style that is uniquely Stacy Sews, something that speaks to my customers and builds a lasting connection,” she shares.
As a proud member of the Finite Lifestyle Club, Stacy Sews is offering a 20% discount to all partners for the start of 2025. This special offer is part of Itumeleng’s ongoing commitment to building strong relationships with her clients and the community, making fashion more accessible to everyone.
