Thato Sehlahla, better known by his stage name Dyccoh, is a fresh and passionate voice in the music scene whose journey reflects both ambition and determination. At just 22 years old, this multifaceted artist is navigating his way through the challenges of the industry while sharing his unique sound, a blend of rap, singing, and soulful melodies.

Born and raised in the quiet neighborhood of Berea, Mapoteng, Ha Khomo-ea-Leburu, Masaleng, Thato’s path into music began at a young age. His love for music ignited in 2013/2014 while still in primary school, but it wasn’t until 2017 that he took the leap to record his first song with a former classmate. From there, his journey has been defined by consistent growth, experimentation, and persistence.

“I felt in love with music at a young age, but it was not always easy,” Dyccoh shares. “I tried, failed, and learned until I finally grew into my sound.” His style is a unique fusion of genres ranging from melodic rap to Afro (soul, pop,) trap, and more. His ability to switch effortlessly between rap and singing earned him the title of a singing-inspired rapper, a signature sound that captures both local and international influences.

While Dyccoh is still in the early stages of his music career, his philosophy is clear: “No one owes me a favour. I have to work hard and put myself out there.” His journey reflects that drive. Though his name is mostly known in his hometown of Mapoteng and now in Maseru (where he relocated for academic purposes), he remains hungry for broader recognition.

His recent academic milestone completing a BSc in Business Information Technology at Limkokwing University marks another achievement as he balances education with his musical ambitions.

Currently, Dyccoh is putting the finishing touches on several collaborations and solo singles, with visuals in the works for next year. While his achievements are modest (he’s been featured on three local radio stations, Bokamoso FM, 357 FM, and Boiketlo FM), his optimism is steadfast. His music is available on his Facebook page, Dyccoh Culture, and on the streaming platform musicbox.co.ls, proving his dedication to building a music career one note at a time.

Dyccoh admits that his talent is not yet paying the bills, but he views his journey as a work in progress. His advice to other aspiring artists is practical and grounded: save money, invest in your music, and make sure you pay for streaming services so you can monetise your hard work.

“I am still an upcoming artist,” he concludes, “but I am hopeful that one day, this will all pay off.”

Dyccoh’s story is a testament to the spirit of resilience, ambition, and passion that defines many artists in their formative years. With every song, performance, and collaboration, his journey offers a glimpse into what’s to come for this rising star.
