Tehilla Africa, a celebrated gospel group, recently commemorated its 15-year milestone with an event honoring their dedication, talent, and growing global success. From modest beginnings, the group has risen to prominence, leaving an indelible mark on the gospel music scene both locally and internationally.
The anniversary celebration, hosted by Afromedia, highlighted Tehilla Africa’s extraordinary achievements. Over the years, the group has remained steadfast in delivering powerful and unifying voices of faith, captivating audiences through their music and consistent commitment to their craft.
Addressing attendees, Pastor Mosheeng Maphoi praised Tehilla Africa for their outstanding journey. He reflected on the group’s numerous accolades and emphasized their remarkable growth in recent months. “Despite being in existence for 15 years, Tehilla Africa has reached its most significant milestones in just the last three months of 2024,” Pastor Maphoi noted.
Among their many accolades, the group recently made history by winning Song of the Year in Lesotho this August—an achievement marking a first for Tehilla Africa. The group has also received prestigious awards such as the Best International Music Project Award from the South African Gospel Recognition Awards and the Best of Africa Song of the Year from the Mgoma Gospel Awards.
Pastor Maphoi credited their success to hard work, resilience, and unwavering support from Basotho. “It is the continued support of Basotho that has allowed Tehilla Africa to thrive and grow, enabling the group to host successful annual concerts since 2012,” he said. He also acknowledged the crucial role played by Lesotho’s media in elevating the group’s music to international platforms, expanding their reach and influence across borders.
The celebration not only recognized the group’s musical accomplishments but also honored the individual contributions of Tehilla Africa’s members. Each singer received certificates of recognition for their dedication and significant role in achieving the group’s collective success.
