The Baso200 campaign, which marks the 200th anniversary of Lesotho’s nationhood, offers an impressive M6 million in prizes and a brand-new bakkie, as part of the celebration of the nation’s rich history and progress.

The official launch of the campaign was held in Mohale’s Hoek on November 29, 2024, marking the beginning of this historic journey, which promises to be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

The campaign, which will run over the next four months, is a tribute to the Basotho people, who have supported Econet’s growth and success. The company’s Acting General Manager for Marketing Communications and Customer Experience, Mrs. Puleng Mathabo Masoabi, highlighted the significance of the campaign during its official launch.

This initiative will reward 200 lucky winners with a range of exciting prizes, culminating in a grand draw where one lucky participant will win a state-of-the-art bakkie worth over M500,000.

Econet has designed the campaign with a wide variety of prizes to keep excitement building throughout its duration. The Baso200 campaign offers, Daily Prizes: Every day, one lucky winner will take home M2,000. Weekly Prizes: Each week, participants can win either M10,000 in cash or a smartphone valued at M10,000.

Monthly Prizes: Each month, the grand prize will be up to M200,000 in cash, rewarding those who stay engaged with the campaign. Grand Prize: At the end of the campaign, one lucky winner will drive away with a brand-new bakkie worth over M500,000.

Additionally, all new subscribers will automatically be entered into a special appreciation prize draw for a chance to win a customized embroidered “Econet” Basotho blanket. This unique blanket design commemorates the 200th anniversary of Lesotho’s independence and pays tribute to the country’s cultural heritage.

For New Subscribers: New customers must spend at least M10 to unlock free pre-loaded benefits.

Upon activation, the benefits include 200 local seconds, 200 ETL-to-ETL minutes, and 11.3GB of data, all valid for 200 minutes.
