-The Lesotho Football Association (LeFA), driven by a vision for excellence in coaching, has launched the CAF C License Coaching Diploma. As thirty coaches embark on this transformational journey, the excitement and anticipation are palpable, for this is not just a course – it is a catalyst for change in Lesotho’s soccer landscape.
As soccer continues to evolve globally, the demand for highly skilled and knowledgeable coaches has surged. This trend is particularly evident in countries like Lesotho, where football remains the most cherished and widely followed sport. To address this growing need, the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) introduced the CAF C License Coaching Diploma. This program is designed to equip coaches with advanced skills and insights to elevate their coaching careers.
Recently, a cohort of thirty local coaches embarked on this transformative journey, successfully completing the first block of the course. Now, they have reconvened at Bambatha Ts’ita Sports Arena for the second block, which officially commenced on Monday, November 19. This milestone underscores LeFA’s commitment to advancing the quality of football coaching in Lesotho.
Under the guidance of LeFA Instructors, Mr Naleli Ts’ilo and Mr Motlalepula Majoro, this group of coaches is determined to take their coaching abilities to new heights.
It is no surprise that this group is filled with former national team players, such as retired goalkeeper Sello Ramakau, Bushy Moletsane, Mojela Letsie, Liri Phiri, and three members of the first Lesotho Under-20 team to qualify for the African Youth Championship – Ralekoti Mokhahlane, Tefo Maipato, and Dlomo Monaphathi. The presence of these seasoned players speaks volumes about the high regard this course holds in the soccer community.
In addition, former national team captains Nkau Lerotholi and Basia Makeper are also part of this esteemed group. This adds a wealth of experience that is invaluable for the aspiring coaches.
The CAF C License Coaching Diploma is a comprehensive course that covers all aspects of coaching, from tactics and strategies to player development and motivational techniques. The first block of the course focused on theoretical knowledge, while the second block is more practical, giving coaches the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge in real-life scenarios.
This course is not just about obtaining a certificate; it is about honing one’s coaching abilities and becoming a better leader on and off the field. The coaches in this group understand the value of this course and are fully committed to completing it with the highest level of diligence.
The second block of the course will also include a physical fitness component, as coaches will undergo training to improve their fitness levels. This is essential as coaches are often seen as role models, and it is important for them to lead by example.
The CAF C License Coaching Diploma is not just a course; it is an investment in the future of soccer in Lesotho. These coaches will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to train and develop young players to become the next generation of soccer stars in the country.
Moreover, this course also opens up numerous opportunities for these coaches, both locally and internationally. With the CAF C License Coaching Diploma, these coaches will have the necessary qualifications to work with professional teams, youth academies, and even national teams. This will undoubtedly raise the standard of soccer in Lesotho and put the country on the map as a producer of highly skilled and qualified coaches.
However, the CAF C License Coaching Diploma is a game-changer for Lesotho coaches. With the completion of the second block, these coaches will be ready to take on the challenges of coaching at a higher level. The dedication and commitment shown by this group of coaches is a testament to the importance and value of this course. The future of soccer in Lesotho is looking brighter with each passing day, thanks to these coaches who are determined to excel in their coaching career.
As Lesotho’s top coaches navigate the second phase of the CAF C License Coaching Diploma, they are becoming ambassadors of change in the country’s soccer world. Their dedication and passion for the game are not only shaping their own coaching careers but also contributing to the growth and development of the sport in Lesotho.
The CAF C License Coaching Diploma is not just about technical skills, but also about transforming the culture of coaching in Lesotho, creating a more holistic approach that prioritizes player development, teamwork, and leadership.
