Maseru – The Lesotho College of Education (LCE) proudly hosted its 29th graduation ceremony, recognizing over 700 students who completed diploma and certificate programs. This significant event was marked by excitement, pride, and shared vision for a brighter future.
Among the attendees were local dignitaries, educators, family members, and friends, all gathered to celebrate the hard work and achievements of the students.
Dr. Thokoana James Motlatsi opened the ceremony, emphasizing the institution’s vital role in enhancing educational standards in Lesotho.
“Today’s graduates represent the future leaders and change-makers of our nation,” saying the college remains committed to fostering an environment that promotes academic excellence and, equips students with the necessary skills to thrive in an evolving job market.
He also urged graduates to utilize their education for the betterment of their communities. “Education is a powerful tool for transformation,” he said. “As you step into the world, remember your responsibility to give back and uplift others,” emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning and continuous personal development.
Dr. Motlatsi concluded with an inspiring message, encouraging graduates to remain resilient and proactive in pursuing their goals. “This is just the beginning of your journey,” he said. “Embrace every opportunity and remember that your education is a foundation upon which you can build a better future.”
The Minister of Education and Training (MoET), Professor Ntoi Rapapa praised LCE for its contributions to the nation’s educational landscape. The minister noted that the qualifications awarded by LCE are instrumental in strengthening the education sector and promoting access to quality education.
Among the graduates, Lempe Maraisane shared his personal journey, expressing deep gratitude for the education and support he received at LCE. “This institution has equipped us with the skills to effect meaningful change in our society,” he remarked.
Maraisane highlighted the importance of perseverance, encouraging his fellow graduates to pursue their dreams relentlessly. “Education opens doors, and it’s our responsibility to walk through them,” he stated, earning applause from the audience.
