Maseru – Penya Play is set to ignite the festive season with an extravagant event, the “Sotho Fashioneng Event,” scheduled for December 28, 2024. The highly anticipated groove promises to be a night to remember, featuring Lesotho’s musical sensation, Ntate Stunna, in a landmark performance.

For the first time in his career, Ntate Stunna will grace the stage for an extended two-hour set, performing alongside every artist he has ever featured in his songs. The event is generously sponsored by Avani Minor Hotels, KFC, and other notable partners.

In a press conference held ahead of the event, representatives from the event’s key sponsors expressed their excitement and commitment to making the Sotho Fashioneng Event a spectacular success.

The Manager of Avani Minor Hotels Lesotho, Mr. Letsosa Mohasoe expresses pride in sponsoring a local event that showcases the country’s rich culture and artistic talent, adding that when Penya Play and Ntate Stunna approached them with seeking sponsorship they gladly accepted. “We are thrilled to be a part of this remarkable event that not only highlights our vibrant local music scene but also celebrates our heritage. This is in line with Avani’s commitment to supporting local talent and tourism as Avani is part of Lesotho so they commit to being part of this journey with them,” he remarks.

Similarly, the Manager of KFC, Mr. Trymore Machimo shares their enthusiasm for partnering with an event that brings the community together through music and fashion. Adding that deciding to be part of this great milestone was a no brainer, “because we have a long great relationship with them, and we are so happy to be part of it.”

He shares that Ntate Stunna is a brand that has impacted so many youngster’s, and has made them believe that a Mosotho can be able to achieve the unachievable.

“KFC is more than just a fast-food restaurant; we are a brand that believes in celebrating life’s little moments. Being part of the Sotho Fashioneng Event is our way of supporting the local arts scene and contributing to Lesotho’s cultural economy, and Ntate Stunna who has been with us since 2020” the manager adds. Emphasizing that they are proud that they found such a young talented man who is doing so well.

Sannere, an emerging artist in the local music scene, manager expresses gratitude for the opportunity to perform alongside a heavyweight like Ntate Stunna. “This event is a golden opportunity for upcoming artists like Sannere to showcase their talent to a larger audience to inspire other upcoming artists to reach their full potential. We are grateful to Penya Play for creating a platform, we also promise to stand behind Ntate Stunna #Ha re e eng Maseru,” he says.

Mavele Infinity Khoeli, shares that they are ambassadors of Sesotho Fashioneng. “where ever we travel to, we make sure that we promote and sell our culture.”

“I see it as a great thing that Ntate Stunna decided to host this event here in Lesotho as we celebrate 200 years of Basotho,” he says. Urging all other artists in Lesotho to support and promote this movement and continue to raise Lesotho’s flag high, and put Sesotho on the map.

“This event is not just a concert; it’s a celebration of who we are as Basotho. We want to bring together the elements of fashion, music, and culture in a way that has never been done before,” Khoeli noted. He concludes with a #Ha re e eng Maseru.

Ntate Stunna in his Remarks shares where his journey began, “it was 10 year’s ago when everyone listened to Mokho, and if back then I dreamed of this day it would have been a strange dream.”

He shares that he asks himself two questions ‘why now, if not now when. If not me then who?’ adding that they motivate him on a daily basis.

“This event we about to host is an international come see event, I urge all Basotho to come witness it on their own, I am prepared and there is no turning back now,” Stunna remarks.

Ntate Stunna’s manager, Mr. Matseletsele Berry also took the stage at the press conference to acknowledge all those present and their sponsors, he then shares insights into the artist’s journey and their plans for the upcoming event. “Ntate Stunna has been on an incredible journey, and this event is a testament to his growth and commitment to his craft. We have been working tirelessly to ensure this performance is unforgettable. The audience can expect a high-energy show featuring all the artists Ntate Stunna has collaborated with over the years,” he shared.

He went on to add, “This two-hour set is a first for Stunna, and we are pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s a night to remember. We’ve been rehearsing extensively and planning surprises that fans won’t see coming, not forgetting to preserve our culture”

MC Lilaphalapha, a well-known local personality, expresses his excitement and commitment to ensuring the event’s success, praising Ntate Stunna for his achievements. “I’ve watched Stunna rise through the ranks, and it is truly inspiring to see him take the stage for such a major event. I am honored to be part of this celebration, and I promise to keep the energy high throughout the night,” Lilaphalapha states.
