Lesotho Defense Force Football Club has announced a significant sponsorship deal with LNIG Hollard, marking a milestone for the club. Under this agreement, LNIG Hollard will provide LDF fc with M3000 00 annually for the next three years. This partnership will strengthen the club’s financial stability and support its ongoing development.
Brigadier Khomo Mohobo, President of LDF FC, expressed his appreciation for the sponsorship, emphasizing that it ensures equity and will benefit both men’s and women’s teams. He highlighted the long-standing relationship between LDF and LNIG Hollard, noting that today’s event is a testament to their enduring friendship. Brigadier Mohobo also pointed out that all members of the Lesotho Defense Force are affiliated with LNIG Hollard, underscoring the close ties between the two organizations.
Brigadier Mohobo takes the opportunity to reflect on LDF FC’s storied history. He says this club has been a dominant force in Lesotho Football, having won the league championship in 1983, 1984,1987,1990,1994, 1997,1998,1999,2001 and 2004. Additionally, LDF FC claimed victory in the Independence Cup (Top 5) in 1983 and subsequently in 1984, 1987, 1990, 1994, and 1997. The club also achieved success in the Top 8 competition, winning in 1985, 1995, 1997, and 1998, with their most notable triumph being the LNIG Top 8 title in 2019.
He says that he shares this historical context to demonstrate that LNIG Hollard made the right decision in supporting LDF FC. Brigadier highlights the club’s prominent male and female players who continue to represent Lesotho with distinction. He also mentions recent matches, including a notable game against a team from Bethlehem, to show that LDF FC remains a powerful and influential team in Lesotho football.
The agreement will see LNIG Hollard provide M300 000 annually to LDF FC over the next three years, supporting both men’s teams and female’s teams.
Liepollo Tsekoa, Head of Brand and Marketing Department at LNIG Hollard, expresses excitement about tha partnership. She states that LNIG Hollard is thrilled to join forces with LDF FC and is eager to support teams that are already making a significant impact. Tsekoa emphasizes that the sponsorship reflects LNIG Hollard’s commitment to backing both the men’s and women’s football teams and aligns with their strategic goals.
This sponsorship marks the beginning of a three-year commitment from LNIG Hollard, starting this year, and aims to foster growth and success for LDF FC.
