Maseru – The reigning Vodacom Premier League (VPL) champions, Lioli FC has announced a total of seven new signings in preparation for the new season.
Following a successful 2023/24 season where the club managed to reclaim their glory, the TY based outfit will not want to break that momentum but rather continue from where they left off. With the pedigree of the new additions to their squad, they look like a team on mission.
The duo of midfielder Rets’elisitsoe Moepi and the Cameroonian striker Swithbert Kum return to the club after almost two years since they departed from the club. Kum who was very prolific for the club prior, returns from his home country while Moepi is signed from Matlama FC following his loan stint with Limkokwing University FC last season. The club has also managed to lure the former Swallows FC defender Leluma Phosholi from Bantu where he saw limited game time under Coach James Madidilane.
Other signings are; Kamohelo Moroane from Maroala FC, Mphale Mphalaole and Makhabane Ramosele from Kick4Life FC, as well as Motlalentoa Mongali from Machokha FC.
The club had also announced that they will retain the services of the VPL defender of the season and the club captain, Mafa Moremoholo, Mokotelo Mohapi, and Thejane Thejane.
Meanwhile, the head Coach Motheo Mohapi was rewarded with a further two-year contract following a tittle winning 2023/2024 campaign. The club has also announced a new addition to their technical team in the form of goalkeeper Coach, Pompo Shoai.
