Maseru – There have been changes to the initial list of the Likuena squad for the upcoming COSAFA Cup, with two players reportedly asking to be excused from national duty.
The Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) announced on Sunday that the national team will depart without the duo of Limkokwing FC’s Lemohang Lints’a and Teboho Letsema of Sekhukhune United in South Africa, who both asked to be excused for work commitment reasons.
In their places, Coach Leslie Nots’i has recalled Botswana-based Neo Mokhachane and Katleho Makateng of Richards Bay in the SA topflight.
The statement read, “The Lesotho Football Association would like to inform the football fraternity that the Likuena technical team has added Neo Mokhachane and Katleho Makateng to the team as replacements for Teboho Letsema and Lemohang Lints’a, who have been withdrawn from the squad for the upcoming COSAFA Cup due to club and work commitments at Sekhukhune United and Limkokwing University, respectively.”
The team is set to depart today for Port Elizabeth ahead of their 2024 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup campaign against the Seychelles on Friday, June 28th, at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, and the match will kick off at 15:00.
