Basotho athletes continue to display outstanding performance and vigor in their local and international competitions. Their efforts and wins do not go unnoticed.

Alliance Insurance has invested M100, 000.00, in acknowledgment of the stellar performance by athletes in Lesotho, partners with Hillbusters running group to partake in an intensive training program to better prepare marathoners for long races.

Hillbusters running group, a club for running enthusiasts, approached Alliance Insurance and made them aware of the need for runners to have proper training before competing in ultra-marathons. To avoid a host of complications that come with a lack of preparation such as the risk of injury that may even lead to death.

On April 23rd 2024, the two organizations came together to launch the Alliance and Hillbusters Last Long Run Ultra Marathon. A training session of a 65 kilometer marathon happening on May 4th 2024.

Seasoned runners who have the necessary training for such a long race are encouraged to register and participate. The cost for registration is a M100.

TheM100, 000.00 funding is meant for logistics of conducting the marathon, which include meals and refreshment stations, emergency service vehicles, and marathon participants’ apparel.

Alliance Insurance stands proud to contribute to the well-being of the Basotho people and vows to continue to do so in the future.

Hlomphang Nkalai, a Hillbusters member, thanks Alliance Insurance for the support, encouraging runners from across the country to participate in this training program.

The program is also aimed to build unity among runners in the country and foster an environment for collaboration, in service to the improvement of the performance of runners in the country.

The Alliance and Hillbusters Last Long Run Ultra Marathon is evidence of the dedication of the Hillbusters running group and Alliance Insurance to the development of sports in Lesotho.

Thanks to the kind sponsorship of Alliance Insurance, this event gives experienced runners a chance to show off their abilities and gives prospective athletes access to invaluable training possibilities.

As the inaugural race approaches on May 4th, 2024, it is encouraged that all runners around Lesotho join in on the celebration of athletics, unity, and cooperation.
