MASERU – Keeping its end on providing a life of affordability, comfort and solutions at customers’ fingertips, Econet Telecom Lesotho, through its subsidiary Sasai Financial Services, ended the ten months loyalty campaign on a high note- gifting its loyal customers.

Courtesy of celebrating its ten years anniversary, Sasai Financial Services, through its EcoCash sepache-fono, awarded different cash prizes to some of its long term dedicated clients. EcoCash Sales and Distribution Manager, Paulinah Moreira, said when the campaign started last year, customers had a simple choice of taking part in the campaign’s competition or not. Additionally, for a better chance of winning and obtaining loyalty points, customers had to constantly pay bills, buy airtime or bundles, make transfers or conduct transitions through EcoCash. One could then redeem the points in a form of cash. Similarly, one could buy and use EcoCash tokens to compete for the monthly draws.

“We further selected grocery voucher winners which had a worth of M3000 every month from the list of people who used EcoCash during those particular months. We had a lot of winners and our cash redemption amounted to a total of M140 000. Again, there were nine trolley dash winners, and the company gave out M27 000 which was directed towards groceries across the different districts.”

Putting the final dot on the campaign, the company rewarded ten loyalty campaign winners, with different prize monies as per their use of EcoCash sepache-fono. The grand prize winner, Ts’epang Thoala walked away that day M20 000 richer. Extending his gratitude to Econet,  he described it to be the best network service provider, which always goes out to find ways of enhancing customers’ lives, afford them convenience and provide them with comfort solutions as well as ensuring that clients do not have to wait on long queues to get key services. Thoala added that winning the competition came as a cherry on top since EcoCash had been assisting him with easily and effortlessly conducting significant transactions including making cash transfers to pay for his bills or buy airtime. He further assured that this was not the last time he participated in EcoCash contests and hopes to win even bigger next time.

Apart from Thoala, EcoCash rewarded nine of it’s other users. Four of those were categorized as first prize winners and walked away with M4000.   Five of those who were second prize winners were rewarded with M2, 500. Moreover, all thanked ETL jointly with making their lives easier, the company further rewarded them with money they can use to cover their essentials.

Passing her remarks, Econet Public Relations and Customer Experience Manager Puleng Mathabo Masoabi, expressed her excitement for winners and extended her gratitude to EcoCash users for their continued support. She added that the ten months long campaign was put in place from September last year when EcoCash celebrated its ten year anniversary of offering services to Basotho. “Today marks the closing of the campaign and we are doing it the Econet way”, she said.

Masoabi added that during it’s beginner stage in 2012, EcoCash could only be used for making mobile money transfers and purchasing airtime, but later advanced to becoming a comfort platform for conducting different transactions or paying bills including those of insurance, rent, water and more.

“We have now improved to offering a wide range of services to our customers. Ten years is quite a long time and within that period, we have experienced immense growth and we hope our customers can attest to that”, said Masoabi.

“We can only thank EcoCash sepache-fono users, because without them, we would not have achieved any of this and come this far. Without them, we would not have been aware that it was essential and see the necessity of coming up with such products, as well as the significant role they play in the society”, she said.

Masoabi thanked all who contributed and played a part in making sure that EcoCash succeeds in the ten years of being service providers to Basotho. She added that the company will continue showing appreciation by also giving back to loyal customers in a number of ways they can.

To make the closing ceremony eventful and keep the public entertained- on their feet, were performances by the esteemed Omali Themba with his hit songs, and Lilaphalapha who had them bursting into laughter, topping it all of with generously dispensing money to fortunate ETL users who were part of the public.
