MASERU – BAM GROUP Foundation will host yet another, Finite Women Appreciation Awards 2023. This will take place on August, 19th at Manthabiseng Convention Centre, where women from different walks of life, who make an evident positive impact in the world around them, will gracefully gather to celebrate their achievements.
The awards are planned to honour women with the theme; innovation and technology. This will be the 11th annual awards aimed at elevating, celebrating and amplifying the visibility and achievements of women in the workforce.
Female focused awards no doubt give a platform for women to showcase their success, give them an opportunity to raise their profiles as well as to celebrate their achievements. Looking forward to such a celebration, helps women to aim higher and reach even further in their careers. Via a range of initiatives and awards, high performing women are identified, vouched for and supported in taking the next steps towards their effective leadership roles. Additionally, high-performing and high-potential women leaders become leveraged as role models for other aspiring women.
This year, the nomination process started in April and ended in May. Basotho women were sought out in their various districts to participate by nominating women they recognise with, the effect of driving a positive change in the society and play a significant role in improving the country’s economic development in their prospective professions.
The nominated women are to represent 10 categories which are; Agriculture, Arts, Culture & Entertainment, Fashion and Beauty, Health Services, Hospitality, Leadership & Development, Manufacturing, Media, Safety and Security, Teaching, and Training and Advocacy.
Currently, the voting stage is on the top 3 of each category, from which a winner will be crowned out of having the most votes. Voting lines are still opened at a cost of M2.00 and bulk voting is also allowed for those who want a win for their favourites.
Finite Events Coordinator, Moketenyane Mokoena stated, “Indeed it is going to be a great, beautiful and successful event. As we called out to organizations, media houses and Basotho owned businesses, big and small, to support us in order to make this event big and memorable. The event continues to grow by leaps and bounds, with each year’s event notching higher and higher. It will be glamorous with networking sessions, cocktails, red carpet and photo sessions as well.
With the event’s theme dubbed technology and innovation, attendees are advised to dress innovatively in Black and Gold. “So people should dress to kill. There will be prices to be won by the audience, finalists and of course winners will walk away with crystal trophies,” Mokoena added.
As in past years, this year also the award presenters have been well picked to represent varied industries. The event promises entertainment galore by various artists in the country, with the likes of long time duo Lefate by Damario and Setlofa, Mokorotlo Galaxy featuring Phatela, and Febric. Also for the first time there will be appearances by Maru-A-Pula; award presenter’s ushers will be the reigning queens, performances by Chief Fasa, Mothula-Ts’epe. Famo acts by Thope tse Khang, Manyarela and Jam Session DJ’s for the after awards.
Vuyani Monyake is booked as event MC alongside brand ambassadors Twin Talk, a duo by Ts’epang and Nts’epeng Ts’ita who are known to entertain guests with gifts. To further inspire women and motivate them to reach greater heights, one of the guest speakers invited is Ayanda Ncwane, who has outstanding achievements in entertainment and lifestyle. Ayanda is a CEO of her company, president of Africa Gospel Awards and a CAPPASSO board member. She is now a globally recognized and respected music Executive as she has won a number of accolades and awards internationally including Music Promoter of the Decade (2010-2020) in London UK.
