In celebration of Africa woman’s month 2023, BAM Group Foundation (BGF) brings the 11th Annual Finite Magazine Wo-men appreciation awards in August.
Ms. Moketenyana Mokoena, the Finite magazine coordinator said the primary objective of this event is to give recognition and appreciation to women. Women make a positive contribution in a country’s economic development through their professions. The event will also be creating a platform where leaders, business owners and entrepreneurs will engage; be it to network, find solutions on problems facing businesses or even socialize. This year’s theme is technology and innovation.
“In the previous years, men were not left out as they provide undying support to their spouses who are making an impact in society however this year we will be celebrating women in technology and innovation as this year’s theme indicates. Men will be included again in future.” Mokoena said.
Mokoena said the nominations close at midnight 31st May 2023 (today). The Top ten finalists will be announced in the months of June and July. In July the top three finalists will be announced and on the day of the event which will be the19th of August, winners will be announced at ‘Manthabiseng Convention Centre.
There are ten categories on which nominees are expected to come from. These are Agriculture, Arts, Culture and entertainment, Fashion and Beauty, Health Services, Hospitality, Leadership and Development, Manufacturing, Media, Safety and Security as well as Teaching, Training and Advocacy. The nominations are done online at https://fwaa23finitemagazine.co.ls. Every one from any of the related categories can be a nominee and one can nominate themselves.
Mokoena explained that they reached out to different organizations including small and medium businesses to pledge their support for the event so that it can be successful also indicating that they cannot achieve all they wish to without the support of their sponsors and partners of the event. She expressed their gratitude in how well the event is gaining popularity and taking leap of bounds every year through the support of Basotho. Partners and sponsors can pledge their support in monetary terms, products or services. There are some media partners who have already committed to the event and more are still expected to come forth. These media houses are: The Mail newspaper, PMR radio station and Informative newspaper while the sponsors are Naleli pretty products, MOSH school of Baking, Lapeng Laundry Services, Bold Culture, Khesa girls, Golden rose products and Health direct pharmaceutical solutions, Eden Greens Organic products and Mlex.
