Thrive Media was founded in 2013 by Kananelo Boloetse, Sechaba Letsie and Kali Mphofe. It was called Lesotho Career Assistant back then but it was registered at Law Office as Youth Career Assistant Association.

Boloetse, Letsie and Mphofe were classmates at the National University of Lesotho (NUL) studying BCom. In 2021, they brought on board their former classmate, Lebohang Moopela to the team to manage the page full time. They then decided to rebrand and relaunch it as Thrive Media. Thrive was founded for the purpose of assisting young Basotho with career and scholarships opportunities present in the country.

Some organizations inbox them when they have vacancies but some of the vacancies posted on their page they obtain from various sources like company websites and newspapers alike. They currently do not have any working relationships with companies but they are working on it. They acknowledge the hardship new graduates experience when trying to acquire information on available vacancies, as not all can afford to purchase newspapers on a regular.  They decided to use Facebook because it is a platform which is easily accessible to all.

Currently, they are not working with any company. They use their own resources to look for vacancies and post them on Facebook, Moopela handles the daily operations.

They are hopeful that one day their efforts will be noticed by the government an hopefully a collaboration will spring from there, that way  they can get easy access to the government’s vacancies and tenders.

The great thing about posting these things on Facebook is that even people who do not have data can use “free mode” and still be able to view these vacancies and apply for them. Many people today are unemployed not because they’re lazy or anything, but because they do not have access to critical and important information
