Thrilled hip hop and afropop star Teboho Maphike popularly known as Crazy T said the release of his single in December, titled Maobane kene ke Tauoe has brought nothing but joy in his life.
The 21 year old artists said this is the first time his song has surpassed 1600 downloads on spotify. Currently the song is at 3100 views on YouTube. As an artist in an underdeveloped country, Crazy T said the numbers on social media indicates the success of his song.
Giving his background Crazy T is from Maputsoe and he is a musician signed under Sothokids Culture Agency, which is led by Khosi Khebez Seatlana.
The artist said he started way back in 2016, making a big entry into the music industry through his hit song, called Sponono featuring Chereh Sputswe & Tay Loc.
Crazy T also revealed that his song was produced by one of the best underground producers in Lesotho termed Doty. Unlike other tracks, the singer said the song ‘Maobane kene ke Tauoe’, possesses unique and strong lyrical content.
“Well I’ve realized most of Lesotho Musicians produce love songs so rather than being a copycat , I went to the studio with the thoughts of revamping an old hit song and modernizing it so that its fits into our current generation,” said Crazy T.
The singer said he knew from the moment he set foot in the studio that the song will be popular and in high demand because most people can relate to it.
He grew up listening to the old version of the song and saw the potential to create a sing along.
Crazy T concluded by expressing gratitude to everyone that has been supporting his music career so far moreover he said fans should always be on the lookout for his next song or even an album.
