MASERU- The harsh winter season just gone by has left a trail of destruction to a hopeless situation in Lesotho as the effects of drought and climate change continue to wreak havoc.

Such was the scenario in mid-August when the winter breeze, instead of waning out, showed an intensified avalanches and heavy snow – something that has never been seen in recent years, especially in the highlands of Lesotho.

Cost of hunger in Lesotho validated

Poor crop production contributes to malnutrition in LesothoMASERU-Ahead of the Africa Nutrition week to be held on the 27th October 2016, Lesotho has kicked off the validation of cost of hunger (Coha) to address issues surrounding malnutrition. Coha is an African project led by the African Union (AU) Commission which has been implemented by member states to improve lives of African children. According to Cosmos Mokone, head of the national implementation team, Coha seeks to provide political leadership and platform for advocacy on elimination of child hunger in Africa.
