Experts gather to shape Lesotho’s future

Maseru- Lesotho Foresight and Scenarios Project (LFSP), a unique collaborative project between the Government of Lesotho, the National University of Lesotho (NUL) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was launched in Maseru during a conference on the 10th to 12th of April 2017.

The project will be implemented over a period of one year under the theme, ‘The Lesotho we want: Imagining the Future, Shaping it Today.’ The project comes at a time when Lesotho is preparing for a third national election in just over five years.

Opposition raises ‘instability’ concerns

5. Opposition bloc Leaders comprising ABC, AD, BNP and RCL

MASERU-Leaders of the opposition parties namely, All Basotho Convention (ABC), Alliance of Democracy (AD), Basotho National Party (BNP) and the Reformed Congress of Lesotho (RCL) have expressed concern at recent political developments in Lesotho which, they say, could create instability in the country.

This is according to a joint statement released by the party leaders yesterday.

The leaders said they were disturbed by the recent conflicts and killings at a time when the country is striving for peace and stability which are necessary for holding of free and fair general elections, come June 3 2017.
