It pays to be kind- By Ted Msipa

Ted Msipa

It is normal for people around you to cross your path in a bad way. Once in a while people will step on your toes and annoy you. That said, your human instinct is more retaliatory in nature and rarely kind in its approach towards offence.

Simply put, humanity loves to revenge and get even than letting go. We love it when others feel our pain. In a nutshell, most of us are more cruel than we are kind. We are so much immersed in our rights to care about the next person. When people cross our paths in a bad way, we do not mind them being gored by our horns, after all, we are mostly all right conscious than kindness conscious.

Anybody can revenge or get even, but it takes a special heart to forgive and to be kind to others, who can blame us for that, our world is too full of bloodthirsty demons, which bay for blood at any given occasion. Kindness is not a feeling, but it is a reality which we ought to express, embrace and cherish. Kindness takes the heart of an elephant.

The act of kindness is a godly act and continues to be progressive in human lives. There is no quantity of kindness which can be considered to be too much. It is kindness which made God give his grace continues to make it sufficient. It makes God look at us with a compassion .The kind people are a rare breed amongst our people, mostly we are self seeking and pursuing self righteousness.

Those who choose to be right are short sighted, but those who choose to be kind are amazing visionaries. They are not the ones who will be denied anything, but they will achieve what the ear has not heard nor mind imagined. Kindness is what makes you greet your old foe like an old friend. It makes us recognise.

Every day as people we face a lot of unkind and selfish behaviour. We are mocked and despised, at times we are even assaulted, retaliation is the easiest response, but the easiest thing is not the right thing, so we ought to step up and do the unimaginable.

This is your year to be kind and become a difference to all those you encounter. Being kind is indeed a sign of true greatness.

Success is an attitude; let us meet at the top.
